Friends of Child and Family Health Inc (Friends of CaFH) are approximately 2000 members of the community who "work in partnership with Children, Youth and Women's Health Service, providing clients, community members and volunteers with the opportunity to participate in activities which complement and enhance the objectives of the Children, Youth and Women's Health Service".
Friends of Child and Family Health Inc, or 'Friends', are groups of parents and caregivers who offer support, friendship and parenting information at the local level. These groups are known as Branches.
Friends Branches are supported both by staff from the Community Engagement Team and by staff within Children, Youth and Women's Health Service in regional areas.
Membership of Friends of Child and Family Health Inc is free.

How Friends of CaFH work
Friends branches are run by the members of the Branch. This way, the needs of each different group can be met.
Branch members decide when they are going to meet, how often and where. The Branch also chooses what sort of activities it will have, for example most Branches give support by holding informal coffee mornings.
Many Branches also include guest speakers and information sessions in their programs.
Staff at the Friends and Volunteers Office and the Regional Representatives support Branches by providing:
- phone contact with all Branches
- regular newsletters
- helping to put together a program of activities
- supplying posters and promotional material
Although no two Friends branches are the same, most branches are 'open' and welcome new members.
